Default Another Jewel

I'm on the hard version, in the city of souls. Any hints on how best to complete the game where you have 9 boxes and have to match a certain number of jewels to complete the game. Is starting at the bottom better than at the top?
Also why does it take so long for the game to recognise that there are no more moves

TIA
H

It is always better to start from the bottom cause this way you will get more free matches on top.

I agree. It is worth starting from the beginning.
