Totem Tribe 2 - first details

As we made the decision to develop Totem Tribe 2, the general design concept is shaping up and we will share some insights with our patient fans from time to time to keep their interest. So here are some key concept changes from original game:

1) Resources will be introduced. While absense of resources in TT1 was fun, we feel adding resources will add more depth and strategy to the game. We will try to make resources mining/management as simple and intuitive as possible not to overcomplicate the game.

2) Protagonist will be customly generated and more tightly integrated into the game. Instead of Aruku we will add the ability to create your own hero (or heroine). The hero will be not just helpless doll, it will be able to travel, fight, lead army, interact with objects and so on. Hero will be an integral element of the game and will be very personal to player.

Later we will post more details about upcoming game. Meanwhile feel free to post what you think about those 2 changes.

    I love the first addition, but have mixed felings about creating my own player. I hate having to choose weapons, skills and especially hair styles.. Also I find it frustrating when certain things can only be acomplished by the hero. Just wondering then are you going to introduce day and night? I hate when my people need sleep and loved that about the original TT and Gold in that an Island could be accomplished in one period ("day"). Also as I said before resources are nice as long as you don't actually have to force your people to eat. Waiting impatiently...for what I know will be a great game.

    No, there will be no day and night and other tedious things like need to feed your people and stuff. Resources are more like you have to accumulate XX wood in order to build a house. Just to add some challenge into building, cause right now you just wait until it's done, and that's it. With resources you will have to chose which building to build - which ones will help you better at the moment, and which ones are less necessary and can be build later if at all.

    The resources are a good thing, they bring a new element to the strategy. Please, don't make this game too easy, make it clever and ''puzzle-ing'', simple and intuitive but smart.
    Regarding the hero matter, I don't really like those screens where you have to choose between clothes and weapons.
    If you want to introduce resources and abilities or weapons I think you need to create a friendly interface, easy to use, not boring or too stuffy.

    Very nice, I am excited as I know that gathering resources will add a new depth to the game. I think you are on the right track to make this game ten times better even though TT is the best game I have ever played.

    omg i am so excited,man the 1st one was one of my 1st foreys into building/sim types of games,,,and bar none....hogs, builders, tms, m3,s it is one of my favorites...

    I am sure that you will make a great game again.
    Personally I am not a big fan of a lot of fighting. Like the final on Totem Tribe 1 and Gold. I just didn't bother to finish it.
    I like to explore and solve the puzzles. Maybe you can make two options? A battle option and a puzzle option.Then you would probably satisfy everybody.
