Chest in the Abandoned City

Has anyone figured out how to open the chest in the Abandoned City? It says something about a cross and a flail, and I think it has something to do with the pictures, but i've finished those and nothing happened.

Thanks, I figured it out anyway, although I wish I had of figured it out BEFORE I found all of the gems on every island!

I don't know how to hide the text for spoilers :(. But I was right, it has something to do with the pictures, just keep messing around with them and you will get a flail and cross.

The pictures are essestial..I too found them very hard but after 2 days of trying I finally got them..it will rain down isis eyes and you go from there. gives you two things to use on the charging things. I put the flail and cross in the croccodile's mouth but that's as far as I got. I love how hard this game is LOL.;)

Hmmmm....I'm thinking your game seems a bit different than mine?? Or maybe we're talking about different pictures? Mine didn't rain anything, and i didn't put the flail and cross in the croc's mouth - i just put them in the statue behind the chest and the chest opened.

as for the solution, even if you send me the pictures, i still don't know how to obtain them

Ohhh...so, you don't even have the pictures right now? That part was hard, and there is no easy way to do it, really. I just kept clicking on the arrow buttons until it got to a point where the picture appeared a bit more focussed, then went to the next button and did the same thing. But you have to do something more it seems even after the picture is fully focussed.

Ok, well, that is the 'easy' part that I was going to email to you because I didn't want to spoil it for someone else.

I figured out how to do spoiler text, so here is how you open the chest:

Once the picture is focussed, click on the first arrow button through one full 'rotation', meaning, keep clicking it until it goes back into full focus again. Do the same for the next button, then the next, etc. I started with the bottom buttons first, then did the ones on the side. Note that the same number of clicks is not needed for each button. I think i counted 8 clicks for one, five clicks for another, etc. Hope that helps!

Yeah, same thing happened to me. To write spoiler text, type in the following:

[*color=white]insert spoiler text here[*/color]

but take out the *'s

There is nothing immediately obvious to me and the chest is still closed...The chest that says "crook and flail" right? Do I need to keep cycling thru the buttons? Highlight:

Yes, you need to cycle through all of the buttons, one by one as described before. Either a hook or a flail will pop out of the picture and you use that on the statue behind the chest. (It is obvious when you do it right.)

I'mafraid I'm stuck here, too ... got the pictures focussed, rolled through using the arrows, and ... nothing happened ?! I've rolled through several times, did I miss something?

You have to make sure that the picture is in the right place. So not just focused but also centered.

So, when I got back into the game this morning, the pictures were "magically" centered whereas they hadn't been before. I scrolled thru and it worked. Thank you everyone!

Has anyone noticed this...

I decided to try to figure out the pictures this morning - so I saved the game right where I placed the nametag and then when I loaded my game this morning, the picture was solved.

I then went to the next picture and installed the nametag, then saved and when I reloaded, the picture was solved.

The only thing I'm concerned about is if there was any item that was supposed to be a "reward' for solving each because I didn't receive anything once the picture was solved.

There is a sculptere above of chest. You have to put the cross (ankh?) and flail (sorry, I don't know how you have to get it - I forgot it) to this sculpture.

ok so i'm going crazy here...i placed the first name tablet, got the crook and now i can't place the second name tablet! is there a specific spot on the puzzle i need to place it?

And thanks everyone for your posts on this as it was driving me nuts, but with all the input, have got the crook and flail finally. YAYYYY!! Now to find the 8th feather, and the other half of the magnifying glass. If it wasn't for the forums, I would never have got this far.

You just need to make the text white instead of black :)
